Deep

I'm a poem.
I'm versatile.
I mean a lot differently,
To a lot of different people.

But
I'm not tied to these meanings_
These different interpretations of me.
I'm only answerable to the me
That I know I am and can be.

While
Judge a book by its content
Not by its cover, they say,
What choice had the book
In its own publishing? I ask.

Maybe
What you see is what you are,
good, bad, sweet or bitter.
I, like a book, am nothing
until you either write me off
or otherwise.

I'm a poem
About which you say what you know,
From your knowledge of who you are.

Like I will always say,I only allow people to know that which I allow them know...You Don't judge a book by it's cover Dats quite true,but u don't also judge a book by itss content because sometimes, the content may also deceive you.

At some point I figured out that I shouldn’t care too much as to owe you any explanation for quitting and what I’m quitting but then I’ve come to the acceptance that there’s a lot to learn from anybody’s story no matter how insane it may seem or sound. THAT PILE OF SHIT IS YOUR BEST SHOT

We've all got tales to tell. You know, it's a gift to be able to tell tales because #DeadMenTellNoTales. However, these tales are in the past and not to be resided in but referenced. Someone once said, 'you'll never amount to no good' (but then, God is the Best and He is my Creator). Another told me, 'you can't even rhyme well and you want to do music?' (I did a couple of songs and when I stopped, same person begged to sponsor my music if I agreed to do more). Then again I started working out and another told me to stop wasting time,  'guy you go just grow veins full body. You never eat well you wan dey carry iron abi?' (now he, his cronies and a lot of other people want tips about healthy exercising from me). 'you can't even construct good English and you want to study journalism?' I once was told. A THROWBACK

I remember once when I was in secondary school_ I.C.E Auchi something happened. We (the then SSSII Students) were in the lab because of the  SSCE examination that was going on in the rest classes. A teacher claimed his Nokia flip phone had been stolen. And decided that every student in the classes he has been to will pay about #500 or so (can't really remember how much as this was in 2006/2007 academic year). Then I began to think of the last time he entered the lab. The phone was in his pocket. Not that I saw the phone but the impression of a phone was visibly shown because of the tight nature of his trousers and for the fact that he was well built. I summoned up courage to protest the fact that the phone was with him the last time he came to the lab and as such we cannot be asked to pay. This single act brought an additional punishment of 3to5 lashes from the back of a bike's brake wire on me and the entire class (as they too supported my guts). As this went on, I retorted,...
